Megan is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Over the past ten years, Megan has worked alongside children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced various forms of trauma, particularly sexual abuse. Although she began her career as a Child and Youth Care Worker, she was quickly inspired to return to school and complete a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Now working as a Psychologist, she deeply appreciates the courage and strength it takes to ask for help. She values the power of human connection as a vital foundation for healing.

After becoming a mother and navigating her own challenges with postpartum anxiety and rage, Megan felt a strong calling to pursue specialized training in this area. Through both personal experiences and professional development, she discovered how many parents were struggling in silence. She understands firsthand the sting of shame that can accompany postpartum rage and the overwhelming intensity of emotions that often arise during this period. These insights have shaped her belief that society must have more open conversations about perinatal mental health and the stigma surrounding it. She advocates for providing new parents with the support they need during what is often one of the most vulnerable times in their lives. Megan recognizes the challenges and feelings of overwhelm that can occur during the transition to parenthood and believes people deserve to be met with safety, empathy, and compassion.

In her therapeutic work, Megan strives to create a space where all emotions are welcome—especially the ones that feel the heaviest. She believes that individuals should feel safe and free from judgment when discussing sensitive topics. As a Psychologist, Megan is committed to equipping her clients with tools to regulate their emotions in order to move towards healing. Her dual perspective as both a clinician and a parent fuels her passion for advocating for perinatal mental health and challenging the misconceptions that often surround it. This passion ultimately led her to join the team at RPTC, where she works alongside other dedicated service providers.

At RPTC, Megan is passionate about supporting individuals who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss, birth trauma, perinatal mental health challenges, and IUD trauma. She works with adolescents (ages 12 and up) and adults, using an integrative approach tailored to each client’s unique needs. She is trained as an EMDR therapist and incorporates techniques from Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Compassion Focused Therapy in her practice. In addition to this, Megan is currently completing training through Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Trainings (CPMHT).
